Community Engagement is the process of working collaboratively with groups of people affiliated by geographic proximity, special interest, or similar situations to address issues affecting their well-being. It is a powerful vehicle for bringing about environmental and behavioral changes that improve the health of a community and its members. Engagement is not generally driven by a ‘model’ so much as by a framework of guiding principles, strategies, and approaches. This framework is based on principles that respect the right of all community members to be informed, consulted, involved and empowered. It also places a premium on fostering and enhancing trust as a critical element in long-term, sustainable engagement and effective governance.
Based on our team’s experience of developing community outreach strategies for agencies varying in size and complexity in the public sector; we understand your goal to promote the unique and diverse needs of your community. The mission of CSS is always to provide excellent services by engaging with the community and conducting research for the implementation of a strategy that enhances the dissemination of information to your constituents. This includes, but is not limited to: the public at large, employees, the media, local and regional partners, and broader audiences. We understand that not everyone has established an online presence, and strive to reach out by an “Any Means Necessary” philosophy; including the hand delivery of notices. CSS will focus on telling your organization’s story across multiple channels to its many audiences by utilizing our team’s expertise in web and print design, media relations, social media, photography, and video.
In addition to providing technical assistance, support and guidance during the initial rollout of a communications strategy, we are committed to training and empowering you and your team to endorse the current best practices for community engagement, web accessibility and social media outreach. This will ensure that no barriers exist preventing interactions or access to websites by constituents with disabilities or impairments. When correctly designed to be inclusive, websites are developed and edited so all users have better equity to information and functionality hosted online.
